Gallop Services, Inc. is proud to bring you the Gallop DSV Rating System.  This system has been designed to give you, as consumers, a quick and easy way to provide a granular rating of your experiences with personal technology services and products.  We’ve identified three criteria that cover the broadest spectrum of the consumer experience – Delivery, Support, and Value.  Each of these are described in detail below.  The DSV System takes a rating of one to five stars for each, with specific rating criteria for each.  All user ratings are then combined to provide a community average.

This article will explain the ratings and how to use them within the forum environment.

  • DeliveryDoes the provider deliver on their promises to you?
    • In most cases, service providers take steps to ensure that they are delivering all promised services.  However, if consumers feel that they are not getting the promised download speed on their Internet connection or the expected number of pro sports games via their satellite TV connection, other current and potential consumers should know what’s really being delivered.
  • SupportIf something is wrong, do you receive adequate customer support?
    • It doesn’t matter who your provider is – consumers will almost certainly experience the need to call customer service for the resolution of some kind of issue.  This rating will show how well the provider meets consumers’ needs.
  • ValueDo you get what you pay for?
    • Sometimes using a provider that’s the only game in town costs a pretty penny.  Once in a while, though, a rare gem of a service is available at a price far exceeded by its usefulness to the consumer.  We’re interested to know whether the overall experience of using the service is worth the financial cost.

The DSV System uses a familiar and easy to use five-star rating system, but expands it to provide a more consistent and understandable rating among consumers.  Most of today’s personal technology services and products are far too involved for a single rating to fully describe the consumer’s experience, and the use of these three components will provide a complete understanding of the service or product.  Each rating (1-5) for each component has specific criteria tied to it – these criteria are indicated below your rating as you “mouse over” the different stars.

To submit your ratings, just log in to the Gallop Community Forums.  Creating an account is easy if you don’t have one yet.  Then, find the provider that you would like to rate and click your desired Delivery, Support, and Value ratings – it’s that easy!  And, by integrating the DSV System into the Community Forums, you will also be able to describe and explain your experiences in even greater detail with a forum post, if you wish.  The forum environment will ensure an engaging discussion between you and other consumers as well as Gallop staff members.
